I love this film with its lavish Technicolor, filmed entirely in India and directed by Jean Renoir – and beautifully directed and photographed at that.
Here Rumer Godden who wrote the book, and Jean Renoir are seen on the set during filming. She was there for all of the filming and really admired the work of Jean Renoir on this one.
